Why Has This Happened?
Refrigerators can malfunction for any number of reasons. Problems can be traced back to dirty condenser coils or a temperature control that needs replacing.
Finding a solution to your problem is rarely as simple as it seems because it is different for every brand. This is why we don’t recommend DIY repairs. If you don’t have the proper tools or knowledge, you can risk causing further damage to the appliance, which will cost you more in the future. These sorts of damages are rarely covered by your warranty.
For any repairs or maintenance needs, call Nick’s Appliance Repair in Holland.
Signs That Your Refrigerator Needs Servicing
Loud, Banging Noises
If your refrigerator starts to make sounds that are completely out of the ordinary, then the evaporator fan or even the ice maker may be to blame. If the sound occurs when you open the refrigerator door, then you may need to service the condenser or the evaporator. You should also want to check the blades. If a foreign object has gotten caught in the blades, then that could explain the noise. Evaporator fans can be replaced but could lead to further damages if not properly addressed.
This can usually be traced back to dirty condenser coils. Debris builds up over time and requires proper cleaning. If this doesn’t change anything, then call us. You may need to have the condenser fan, or the capacitor repaired or replaced, which we have plenty of knowledge and skill to properly carry out.
Any leaks can be traced back to the water tank or the inlet valve. If it’s the water tank, then it needs replacing. The filter may also be at fault, especially if it hasn’t been installed properly. This can be easily fixed by re-installing the filter. The defrost pan may also need replacing.
